I’ve spent more than two decades studying the human mind, and the deeper I’ve gone, the more convinced I’ve become that most of us understand very little about why we think, believe and act the way we do. Writing is how I’ve tried to change that, for myself and for you.

The writer

I’ve written more than 25 books, published and distributed internationally, most of them exploring manipulation, persuasion, decision-making and the hidden forces that steer what you believe. My MIND series, beginning with my bestseller MIND GAMES, is the heart of that work. I also write about investing and leadership, and with Jess T. Bryan I’ve co-written a string of Westerns full of gunfights, outlaws and frontier justice. Picture books for young readers are on the way.

The interviewer and editor

Over the years I’ve interviewed about 350 fellow authors, including Bernard Cornwell and Beau L’Amour, about their craft and the writing life. Today I also help other writers bring their own books to life as an editor, ghostwriter and co-author.

Credentials

I hold a doctorate (hons) and a master’s degree from San Diego State University. I’m a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and my writing has earned a second-place prize and two honorable mentions.
